  • Support and encourage the maintenance of standards throughout the precinct of Port Mandurah including those outlined in Covenants of the land sale documents

  • Liaise and foster good working relations with Government, Local Authorities, Statutory Authorities and other relevant bodies; to foster good working relations with the media to inform the public

  • Publish information sheets and newsletters for the benefit of members and non-members

  • Appoint and engage consultants and others whose appointment the Committee considers will facilitate the achievement of these objectives

  • Encourage and foster social interaction between members of the Association and others with similar interests.

  • Ongoing changes in the wider Peel region as well as within Port Mandurah creates a need for information to be available to Port Mandurah Residents. This site hopes to provide you with the relevant information.

  • The Association was established in 1994 to give residents the opportunity to lobby Governments at Federal, State and Local levels, as appropriate, with a united voice. PMRA represents ALL owners of the Port Mandurah canal precinct in matters pertaining to the management of the canals, and has quarterly meetings with Councillors and Directors of the City of Mandurah to ‘iron-out’ issues in respect of canal properties.

    The Association also attempts to hold a social functions regularly.  These functions are a great way to meet other owners and in particular your neighbours, because Port Mandurah prides itself on its great community spirit.  We also have special events such as ‘Santa Afloat’ on Christmas Eve, the Australia Day Flotilla, plus our annual Canal Christmas Lights Competition.

    Our web  site is a ‘work in progress’ and is regularly updated supplying interesting, useful and regular information on matters pertaining to lifestyle, activities and businesses in Mandurah.  Sponsorships are offered to business which may benefit from exposure on the website, in the Association’s newsletters and at social functions.

    Current issues that the Association is addressing are:

  • Dredging [or other removal] of the tail of the Fairbridge Sand Bank [at the entrance to the Grand Canal adjacent to the War Memorial] to ensure safe access for yachts and larger power boats;

  • Proper use of the Special Area Rate [an additional rate applied by the City of Mandurah to properties in Port Mandurah canal precinct 5 years after original sale of the property from the developers, Cedar Woods Properties];

  • The minimisation of building rubbish in canals, water quality monitoring and clean-up of the precinct.
